Servanthood Ministries
Often when one asks a typical Christian, "What did Jesus come to earth and do?" A common answer, "Jesus came to die on the cross and rise again." Good answer. That is what he did with the last week of his life, but what about the other 33 years of his life?
Most members of Good Shepherd know that the complete answer: Jesus devoted his life to walking the way of the servant, and Jesus called others (disciples) to follow his example.
The willingness to serve where needed is at the heart of love and at the heart of personal Christian growth and maintaining a strong and active congregation.
The members of Good Shepherd, "Mission Partners," we call them, know they are called in the waters of baptism to follow Christ--the Servant King. They look for and are provided with plenty of serving opportunities both within and beyond the walls of the congregation.
Some of these opportunities include:
American Red Cross Blood Drive
CROP
ECHO
GIFTS
Hospice
Health Ministry
|
Lutheran World Relief |
Meals on Wheels
Media Ministry
Prayer Chain
Rock County Habitat for Humanity
Shoe Box Ministry
